MPG issues

RE: MPG issues
I think driving style and habits make a big difference to MPG.
Regardless of my vehicles during my life, I have a habit over the years of taking my foot off the gas and coasting to a stop when I see a stop sign or red light up ahead....as opposed to keeping my foot on the gas and then hitting my brakes.
Having owned many manual transmission equiped cars thru the years, I was in the habit of throwing it into neutral 90% of the time before stopping, and then coasting and then braking, except when I was in a hurry...then I would downshift instead while braking...
I have found that my H3 seems to roll on at good speed "forever", when I do this, even with a automatic transmission, and not being able to throw it into neutral when I do this, so it will be interesting to see my MPG...
My 07 Mustang GT, was rated at 25mpg Hwy before the EPA lowered all the ratings, and I believe is now listed at 20.
Yet, I consistantly average 26-29mpg.
Averaged 29MPG, driving 20 minutes to the freeway with a few lights, but no traffic, averaging a speed 45mph, and then averaged 26mpg, on the freeway driving at an average speed of 65-70mph.
Thus, not sure what to think of these EPA ratings.
I will let you know what I get in mpg on my H3, as I have "gas chubby" on my iPhone to help calculate the mpg.
Stay tuned...

ORIGINAL: Supertramp
well.. mpg still sucks... will putting hybrid emblems on my h3 actually fool the h3 into thinking its a hybrid and therefore doubling my mpg?

RE: MPG issues
I need to get me an emblem ASAP!!! I live in los angeles aka the land of the prius! I get nothing but dirty looks all day long! I worry about where I park.. scared that those fairy driving prius owners will vandalism my rig, its already happened once!
My poor mpg I think is due to the fact I drive maybe 5miles to work and back (stop and go) driving...
