I havent done it yet but,per performance weekly
They say if you put in an after Market super chip, k&w cold air intake and change the muffler to a Flow Thru.........stock tires......will make an 4-8 mile per gallon differance.........
cost is about $1,200.00 for the upgrade............

I was playing with my DIC (snicker) at a stop light on Saturday and figured I would snap a shot cause this comes up and I have a feeling people don't believe it's possible. I used to be guilty of lead foot hummer driving and only got like 10-11mpg now I get much higher. Only mods I have are air to 40psi on tires, and I removed my roof racks because they were hitting the roof of the garage where I work. '03 H2

I'd really recommend higher air pressure to everyone that drives in the city, Your ride won't suffer as these things are tanks and ride pretty nicely regardless. you let your tire have less rolling resistance with will increase mileage, also decrease the chance of hydroplaning in the rain as the center of the tires will be less likely to "straddle" the water. You also will help the tires live longer by giving them the ability to dissipate heat.
You can throw that all out the window in the dirt but for street use try it out and see if your mileage increases. I run 55-60 P.S.I. in 315/70r17 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2 Load Range E. Not the best tire choice for offroad but they are unbelievable on ice. Back in cali again so next set will probably be the 37" generals.

mine is completely bone stock, just drove my Father in Law to the airport today. About 30 miles one way all highway and was sitting right around 16.4mpg almost the entire way. I was pretty surprised!
