You are pretty much at the limit even for the Alpha model too. Switching back to 32" tires when you tow and renting an aluminum trailer would help.

Isn't your car a bit too far forward on the trailer? It looks like you're way more than doubling the H3's max tongue weight.

There really isn't much you can do about increasing the power of the I5 in the H3. There were some cool packages out there for it till 2008, but once the Alpha came to market, that stuff all disappeared as the belief was that anyone looking for power in an H3 would be starting there. The only options for the I5 are air intakes, cat back exhausts, and pcm tunes. The only wild stuff still available to my knowledge is the V8 conversion offered by Mash Motors (http://www.mashmotorsinc.com/H3Conversions.html).

If you are just looking for help with the suspension sagging with the trailer and stuff like that, there are a lot of options. One of the newest is the Stinger hitch. http://www.stingerhitch.com/ This is a new approach to an old problem and it appears to be holding up well per some of the reviews and articles I've read about it online. A more old fashioned approach would be to add airbags to the leaf springs to help compensate the extra weight at the hitch. http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...3-springs.html

I hope some of this helps.

Man that whole set-up looks to be passing the max for towing with the H3.

Thanks for the comments. The trailer has a front tire stop that I have to hit. I will try to rent the best posible trailer next time to better center the car on it and maybe a lighter trailler too.

The ECU tune sounds good. Although I wish the throttle body spacer had good reviews, but it doesn't. That's a easy bolt on part.

Anyone ever consider a diesel conversion? I see some posts about doing this in an H2, is it possible in an H3?

With my limited towing, I've always asked questions of the guys who do it a lot. Accoring to others I have talked to you should center the vehicles weight between the double axles. Less rear squat and more control in the front end.
