I just installed a Truxxx Lift kit on my H2 SUT and I was thinking of buying some military tires because of the cost.
Heres my options.

These are Michelin XML's 38x13x16 I can get them for $1369.00 That's after I buy black rock crawler wheels shipping and lugnuts. I would also have to wait several months to get these. Option #1

Goodyear MT tires Military OZ 37x12.50x16.5 with new black rock crawler wheels. I can get these for under 1000.00 shipped and bolted on.
Are these a good option?
Does anyone else run them?
Hows the ride?
Heres my options.

The tires in the first picture are the michelins. I have heard they ride rough but wear very well. The H1 military goodyears in the second picture are a better choice out of the two because they are smoother riding and lighter weight which will help with power and a little saved gas. tires for 16.5 wheels are getting harder and harder to come by. As long as you stick to lightly use military goodyears then dont worry about it.

Local guys around here sell those 37" goodyears for $75 a pop. That could cut your cost in half.

Thanks for all the input guys.
I have decided to either just put new civilian wheels and tires or to just buy the cheaper goodyears and save some cash for now.
Either way I'll put up some pics real soon and if I get the military tires I'll give my opinion. There is one specific guy that sells these like they are the best thing since sliced bread. I have found a local guy that I can get them from, and I can order the wheels from 4wheelparts. Combine that with the fact that my brother owns a tire store so mounting and balancing are free.
That will bring my total cost to $720.00 for the black wheels and goodyear tires.
Thanks,
Earl
