Default Max Tire Size without Torsion Bar Adjustment or Extended Bump Stops

What is the maximum tire size I can run without having to crank the torsion bars or add extended bump stops...

I know some H3's come with 295/75R16's... but what is the max you can go?

Can you do 305/70/r16's or any other size larger then the 295's?

33 inch tires are as big as you want to go. Some guys crank up the T-Bars and go with 35's. Only problem is you start running into problems with breaking stuff when running 35's on the H3.

So 295/75R16's or 305/70R16's?

but.... i just purchased the trail duty kit because i want the extra lift.

if you're going to spend over $1K, $209 for the kit is not expensive

You can install 35" (315/75/16) tires on a H3 with no modifications at all. No lifts, no torsion cranking, no bump stops.

Butttt...

Will there be power issues with the I5?
Will I have issues with the dealer if I have mechanical problems... say with the tranny?
Will there be shifting issues with the automatic?
etc...

how much of the H3 will now be invalid if any mechanical issues arise that will not be covered by the warranty with the 35" tires?

That's a good question...

If a dealer wants to be nasty they can deny any drivetrain warranty work based on the tire size being larger than what comes from the factory (285/75R16 max on the Adventure Package).

Call your dealer first. Find out if they are dicks. If they are, then call a different dealer. Any GM dealer will work, since Hummer is going away and GM will still have to cover the warranty.
