Default Malfunction Indicator Lamp after servicing

I am rather peeved right now. Took my 2010 H3 Alpha 16,500 miles, in for general servicing. Also had service air cleanner done and complete fuel system Introduction/throttle body service with fuel injection service.

Came home and the Malfunction Indicator Lamp is now on.

Everything was fine. I just wanted the general stuff taken care of.

Have to take it all the way back tomorrow.

What is going on?

WTF, you had the DEALER change your air filter? You also paid them to clean the TB and fuel injectors with only 16,500 miles! I guess what Dad said about a sucker being born every minute was right! Please, read the manual that came with your HUMMER. If a dealer suggests any "maintance service" look through the manual and see if they are not just sucking money out of your wallet.

I would be more worried about that, than a simple light bulb being bad!!!!!

Yeah Tainter was pretty rough with his response, but he is right. I just trusted the service manager. Taking it back this morning if you want to know what I found out let me know.

Now I am afraid to even mention what else went wrong with this servicing appointment.

Sorry for the "pretty rough" response. I remember your previous questions like "should we buy", "sunroof leaking", "no rack for you", etc. and figured that this type of response would hit home quickly and make the point crystal clear without having to post 4-5 times.

I hope the dealer takes care of your issues. Do you have a Cadillac dealer (former HUMMER dealer) in your area? If so go to them!

drtom, if you are refering to my post then you should reread it! If that advice about the dealer isn't helpful, I don't know what is? It's the most helpful post on this particular thread. By the way drtom, I have some Rounda Cheese for ya!

Thanks drjesse for quoting his babble again!

Tainter I do go to a Cadillac dealership for service. And I get what you are saying. This seems to be a guy board and I am not a guy.

The problem was a loose hose. It was apparently knocked loose or something during service.

I have an issue with the navagation system and under warranty they are replacing the rear view mirror and radio/GPS.

I have to call BS on the "I'm not a guy" krap! That is just an excuse to let people take advantage of you and say "It's because I'm a girl". It has nothing to do with being a guy or gal. It has to do with being an informed consumer.

If you would have asked us about your dealer wanting to perform the before mentioned "services" my guess is that everybody would have said "no way" and that the dealer was just taking your $ and they are not prudent at your current mileage.

If you are going to use the forum for your other concerns with your H3 then by all means use us for questions about your dealers "suggested" services too. There are quite a few of us who have been on both ends of the dealer service counter and are happy to try to explain what is and is not needed/required as long as the advice is heeded.

Ah...Tainter don't mix my words. Regarding the gender issue it was about the majority of members on this board. Not regarding treatment from the dealership.

I was asking a question here to see if anyone had similar issues. The event had already taken place and if I had thought about it I would have asked the question first.

And I wrote that I got your point. So kindly, back off.

There are several repeat questions here especially regarding tires and I don't see those people being told how they should post and to follow advice or else.

Are we fighting or something?

Good enough, works for me. We would have liked to have helped earlier, this place has some valuable resources, don't be afraid to ask when you have questions.

Welcome.
