Default Loud Noise Around 60-75 mph. Need Help!

I just purchased a 07 H2 and on the way home it was making a wind rattle noise which sounded like it was coming from the square vent right outside the drivers side windshield. When I would duck in behind a semi trailer it would stop. I need help figuring out how to remove the vents so I can tighten them up somehow. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Chances are it isn't the vents. I had the same thing. It sounded like the vents but it was the windshield. I had to get mine reseated and the noise was gone.

PaulB, did yours sound like plastic vibrating before you had the windshield done? Mine sounds so much like a plastic that is vibrating from the wind. It is enough to drive you crazy if there is alot of wind. Thanks for your help.

Yes. It drove me nuts! It sure didn't sound like the windshiled. It sounded like a plastic flap hitting something. But in fact, when the dealer reset (or resealed) it, the noise was gone. Then a year or so later, I had a couple of rocks hit it and I had a local glass company replace the windshield. Guess what, the noise was back. They didn't seal it properly. So after I took it back, they fixed it and the noise was gone again. It has to be tested whenever you get a new windshiled.

No problem. I hope it does turn out to be the windshiled. Bring it to the dealer, they will know. They are the ones who told me what it was when I first got the noise.

I ran a bead of black silicone down the drivers side windshield trim on my 03. 5 min fix and it worked perfectly.

The sound is the plastic trim on the sides of the windshield rattling against it. What you need to do it take them off the truck and run a bead of black rtv silicone along the edge where the windshield meets the plastic and put them back on. Wipe off any excess and let it dry. Problem will be fixed forever. Did mine years ago and no problems.
