loud clunk when applying brakes
I've got a 2003 H2. I get a loud clunk sound when I first apply the brakes. It only occurs if I'm traveling under 20 mph and go to hit the brakes. And its only when you initially apply the brakes it makes one loud clunk and thats it. When it makes the clunk, I can feel the "clunk" under my feet (from the floor board not from the brake pedal). The noise is pretty loud, almost embarrassing going through the carline at school and drive thru's! It sounds like something is going to just fall off. Any suggestions? Its going back into the service dept on Friday to have it diagnosed but I was hoping to be somewhat educated before going in there.
I had told the dealer about it about a week ago when it was in there to have the starter replaced and the mechanic told me that it was the pads or plates or something like that slipping minutely on the passenger side. He sprayed some white/silvery stuff on the passenger side and sent me on my way. But I'm not sure if I'm buying that, since I can hear and feel it on the drivers side.
And feedback would be greatly appreciated!
