looking for a leveling kit
#2
The suggestion is save your money, an aftermarket kit is not needed! do the torsion bar adjustment then you will be leveled. use the search function on this site or go to H3 freq.asked questions. there you will see step by step instructions with pics on how to level

I just turned the torsion bar adjusting bolts. 5 min. and done. No deterioration in ride. If you really crank them, you will lift the front suspension off the jounce bumpers, but you can always buy larger ones for cheap. Mine just barely touch at rest. Crappy cell phone pic below of mine on 33's.

if you do the torsion bar lift you might need an alignment after. When I did mine I had to get one, it was obvious, and the ride after the leveling seemed a little stiffer to me when I hit bumps, my brother in law said he felt like he was on a boat. I kept everything stock so far, I have put about 2,500 miles and not a problem yet

I cranked mine up the other day, I think we went a little too high, Im gonna back it off about 1/2" but I swear mine rides different now. I never really noticed a complaint in ride quality before but it seems a little bouncy now that I did this...

Seriously, this is a good question, what is the best way to go for a little bit of lift/leveling? Okay, I've put a lot of time into this very thing. Go with an add-a-leaf for the rear and the Ready Lift brand leveling kit (it gives the best ride). If you purchase these two items (approx. $300) you can install by yourself in a day (taking your time too). If you want to pay a garage to install expect to pay approx. another $400. I initially went cheap with Tuff Country leveling kit. Oh man, my H3 was bouncing around and it just didn't handle well. I removed the Tuff Country and installed the Ready Lift leveling kit. WOW! What a difference. Plus, when I called Tuff Country to ask them for assistance because the ride was so bad -- they told me that all leveling kits were going to ride the same way. It didn't sound right and I went to a local 4x4 shop. They explained that I should have 99% of the same ride as I had before the leveling kit was installed. So I purchased (based on their suggestion) the add-a-leaf and the Ready Lift leveling kit. I love it. I can support 35" rubber now and the ride is just as it was before the suspension work (that I did myself). Okay ENSURE YOU GET AN ALIGNMENT IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU INSTALL THE KIT. Your tires will thank you. Let me know if you have any more questions. Oh yeah, don't buy the torsh'n removal tool ... I did and you not only don't need it, but there is no way to use it on the H3. Good luck.
