Default Looking for info on how to replace hood latches

I noticed my latches have rust under the chrome so it's a matter of time before the chrome peels off and start looking crappy. There are all types of replacement latches but no instructions on how to replace them. Anyone have any links or instructions? Is it difficult or a piece of cake?
Thanks in advance

Do not buy anything from these people:
Amazon.com: Pirate H2 Hummer 2003-10 SUV & SUT Black Powder Coated Billet Hood Latch Springs: Automotive Amazon.com: Pirate H2 Hummer 2003-10 SUV & SUT Black Powder Coated Billet Hood Latch Springs: Automotive
They refuse to answer questions, and the quality of their stuff is dubious. I wanted to remove the chrome latches from mine and replace with some chunky black ones. I bought the Pirate MFG black latches and their Springs as above, but they don't fit together, and Pirate MFG is refusing to acknowledge or respond. I bought via amazon, but was unfortunate enough to give Pirate MFG some time to respond (plus am in moscow, so am at the mercy of international delivery) and the period to return has expired, so amazon can't assist me. To date, not a single answer from them, and the stuff isn't cheap. Am really disappointed. Looking back, I should have just sanded the chrome down and either rattle canned them black, or if you want to stick with the chrome get them redipped.

BaldFox That is too bad you got shafted like that. You need to write a review on Amazon to warn others.

@atari800 You can undo the hinges by two bolts, that separates the clasp from the hoot. Should be pretty easy from there.

@calif phil you're right, i should have done, i'm still hoping they'd be able to assist me in my drama. I think i'll have another go tomorrow to try and make them fit, if not, i'll get the review hat on...

Just done. Finally got fed up and forced them to work out, see my other thread for the results, with pics.
