? for lifted H3T Alpha owners
Hi all, new to this site,
I am looking at trading in my 05 Super Duty on an 09 H3T, and would want to put a 4" lift on it, with some 35's.
My question is, with the Alpha package, how does it drive on the highway? Is the gearing low enough to turn 35's with the V8? Does it downshift everytime it sees an overpass? Is the 4spd auto enough? I really wish the 5sp manual was available with the V8, but oh well.
Any other problems/quirks with a lift on these rigs?
Thanks for the help

Jason -
I noticed a little less low end torque with the 35" tires but not much of a problem with downshifting. I just turned 500 miles on mine though; so I haven't really had time to get it broke in. I have the Rancho 9000 shocks and adjusted them about midway for normal highway driving, making the ride smotth, smooth, smooth! I'm pretty impressed with it.

Doc,
With a Tbar adjustment, or even a leveling kit, will I still be able to wheel the truck or will there be any rubbing?
I am not objectionable to a minor lift , but it still needs to be functional.
I live in Orlando, FL and go up to North Georgia quite a bit for vacation and in the Super Duty with 8" of lift and 37's driving through the mountains is hard on it. I am looking for a little better performance on the long hall drives.
And there are some great trails within 5 miles of our vacation house, with rocks, off camber clims and waer crossings. A great place for minor wheelin.

Can i get 35's that will fit my current "BLACK" wheels or will i have to get new wheels to. If all i need is tires that would be sweet. Don't do much 4-wheeler but would love to get 35's on there.

35s will fit stock wheels no problem. I have a mob of friends that wheel like crazy with 35s and a T Bar adjustment and no rubbing.
Mine with the stock 33s closest, the green and black ones next have 35s.
Mutaint's Alpha on the rocks, stockwheelswith Mickey Thompson 315/75-16 MTZs..... awesome tires. Did ya here that Mark? [8D]

Any side backs to cranking the Torsion bars like that? I've head some people say not to do it because of pre-mature wear, but I'd like to level out the front of my H3T- but its new so I don't want to do it the cheap and easy way only to wear it down sooner. If i'm going to level it out, I'd like to do it right so I don't effect the wear or the ride much/at all.
