Has anyone seen this? Looks not too bad.

That's COOL for the SUT, but I think NOT for the SUV! I mean, once you take off the rear tire carrier, you have the SPOT for the plate, just no IlLuMiNaTiOn!!!!

I would think they would be the same, SUV & SUT. The plate hangs on the bracket with the light.
I am going to call them this morning.

I installed the kit over the weekend, I will post some pic's shortly. Here's my take on the kit. The tow hooks are chromed steel so they are still of use unlike the billet ones. The bolts they send for them are just zink plated, not chrome. On the light for the liscense plate it has 3 LEDS with just 2 wires 6" long and no connector. The instructions say to tie into the marker lights, kinda suckieso I cut the connector off the stock carrier and used that so it's water tight. Doing this takes off at least 250lbs off the rear of the truck and looks much better and you don't need 4' behind you to open the gate. (my opinion) Over all the kit is 7 out of 10.

It certainly does what you intended it to do, gets rid of the rear tire and carrier. I'm just not sure about the bumber cover with the hole nest to the letter R (where the harness came through)and the blank housing in the tail gate (I agree with Bob). I hate the look of the rear tire and will need to go with your set up or bite the bullet and pay big time to go with the 2005 setup. That means buying a rear license plate housing, replacement bumper cover and tow hooks. Some where in the $500 range just to remove the rear tire. Thanks for the picture and report - great job.

It comes with a plug for the large hole but not one for the small one. So I found one that fit it. I was not thrilled by leaving the holes there even with plugs but it's not bad at all, I wouldn'y worry about it.

You can always recover some of your 500 bucks by selling your Rear Tire carrier on ebay.

Does anyone have a GM part # for the earlier license plate holder that fits on the hatch and is lighted. Are they all the same size and interchangeable from year to year?

How about a part # for the wiring harness piece that hooks into this?

We just bought an 06 H2 SUV and also hate the rear tire carrier. It must go. Thanks for your help!
