Well after seeing how bright these LED's are I'm tempted to start replacing the rack lights with LED bars. 2 bars on the back then either 4 bars up front or just 1 long one the entire width.

I'm still kicking it around though.
my 24" light was shipped today and i missed it, tomorrow it will be good to go. i will make sure i update my post tomorrow night or thursday after i get some pics and such with it on my h2 and with the light on and off. mine is 12" spot and 6" on each side of flood.

Do you think these lights would effect other drivers, the lights do line up with some of the smaller cars around here. The stock DRLs arn't a problem but the light level concerns me.

I was concerned with them being too bright and almost didn't install them. The lights are almost unbearable to look at directly however the actual light output to the road is not that great. I know those statements contradict each other but these lights being low wattage and a flood pattern the output isn't that high. Even small 194 SMD LED's are extremely bright and hard to look at directly.

I haven't had any issues with them so far. Granted driving during the day it doesn't matter and at night my HID's are far brighter being 55 watt HID's so the DRL's would be the last of a worry from other drivers lol.

some states its the law to have DRL's, not here in AZ but with the amount of idiot drivers I'd rather have more lights than not.

This is exactly what I am wanting to do with my H2! I hate that Hummer did not automatically add a switch with the DRLs wired so they can be used for the fog lights. How hard was it to wire these to a switch? What is the name brand of the LED lights? I am definitely going to get me a pair, might have to drop a few hints to the wife for Christmas!

Are they noticeably brighter at night? or are they just more a look?

Thank you and your hummer looks awesome!

Thanks Chibbs.

I did not add a switch, they are wired into the stock DRL wiring so the function exactly as stock. However I do have the DRL mod so they stay on with the headlights.

They do throw light on the ground more than the factory DRL's but not enough to light up the road.

The LED's are cheap, maybe $40-50 on ebay.

Let me know if you need more info.

Thumbs up

Have it done last week. Great and Fun mod,tq to LoJac. I have a few things to share regarding my installation process.

1) LED light used the same model with LoJac and I grind off the mounting too.
2) I used 4 2" long 10-32 thread studs. Screwed them into the lights and secured them with a washer and nylon lock nut.
3) I used 2p/c angle bracket(usually use for wood frame support) and flatten it 180 deg. This is used to secure the 2 tread studs to the factory DRL hole. The other 2 studs will required you to drill the factory DRL housing.
4) Installed the DRLS Horizontally to the mounting suppot which we ground off earlier instead of Vertical. It is recommended coz the beam pattern design on the DRLS Glass is horizontal and this is also to avoid blinding the opposite driver due to the vertical beam.
5) Wired to the factory DRLS wire.
