If not, when you put the half-shaft back in you are scaring/cutting the seal. I got a whole bag of 25 of them off ebay a while ago for under $2 each. I give'em away to other HUMMER owners when we are wheeling together.
I have a boatload of those Kent Moore Axle Seal Protectors, Part# J-44394. You don't have to wheel with me to get a set, just PM me and I will send you a couple.

Default H3 axle seals!

Hello, i have a 07 H3! Luv it! I am in the process of replacing both seals and cv axles. Where can you get the kent moore axle seals? Are they better then the skf seals? I am needing 2 seals. Thanks and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like Big unit is giving them away for free. Hope so, I'm about to replace my CV seals this spring.

I'll send you a PM B-Unit

The Kent Moore product is a protector for the seal when reinstall the the half shaft. It protects the seal from getting chewed up by the half shaft splines. It is NOT the seal itself.

The Kent Moore seal protector is a installation TOOL. It's not a component. It gets removed after the splines are inserted past the seal surface.

Windycitykid, as stated above, the Kent Moore seal protector is an installation tool only. As Mutaint said, it just protects the seal from getting chewed up by the half shaft splines and gets removed after the axle splines are inserted past the seal surface.

The GM OEM part # for the axle seals is 15286593. Stick with the OEMs , as others have tried other aftermarket brands and they have reported fluid leaks after installation, gone back to the OEMs and no leaks after replacing the aftermarket seals.

windycitykid and Norinco, PM me your addresses and I will send you both a couple of the Kent Moore seal protectors.

Coowboy, I'd assume it's just for H3. I'd do some searching around to confirm.

I never got those seal protectors from BigUnit.. bummer.
