Default Leaf springs

Just out of curiosity, my springs make a lot of squeeky noises if subjected to road dust,etc... I have to oil them every 2 months or so ...is this normal? or is there a more permanent solution ?

I think it's one of the quirks of the 3. That complaint has come up a number of times and I don't remember anyone getting any resolution.

yep.....they do...many leaf spring rigs do.....a real pita for sure....adding oil/grease generally lasts a short time then same problem.....best just to open them a bit and clean with high pressure washer....good luck....

Default oil in motor, not on springs!

there was a guy here who said that most important is keep them clean and free of oil and anything that keeps / attracts dust.

air compressor blow them out. they, springs, used to come with nylon? teflon tape at the contact points. semi's have a giant / plastic disk on the 5th wheel pivot, some kind of dry lube.
so keep your powder dry and remember,,,no oil!!
