Leaf Spring Bushing Wore Away at 26K
My 07 H3 started having a real bad metal on metal noise about 3 days ago whenever I turned. Feared that it was the front CV joint going or the steering shaft issue. After inspection, it is the rear Leaf Spring Bushing. It has completely wore away at 26K miles. I have owned many Jeeps (wranglers & CJ's) with many more miles and never had this issue. My local Chevy dealer is going to replace the entire leaf spring at no cost to me. Not sure why they would replace the spring and not just the bushing? Is this a common issue for the H3?

it's news to me, looking forward to what other owners have to say.
it may be more time/cost effective for GM to change the whole spring instead of just the bushing? With helicopters we do that a lot, it's possible to repair a part but if it isn't economically feasible we get an entire assy on order instead of saving a couple of grand in parts vs spending ? on labor.
