Last Hummer built today

It seems as though your time with us was so short, you came in as the utility star of the automotive world only to be glorified through rap videos, action movie celebs and CSI Miami... your image soon tainted by vanity would lead to a downward tailspin lead by Al Gore and EV1 drivers. Your last ditch effort to conform to the enviromental movement wasn't enough and as a result today we bid you goodbye.
May your legacy live on, RIP Hummer

That's one hell of an obituary.
As quickly as the Hummer burst onto the SUV scene, it has departed from it. Just another vehicle on my "sad to see it go" list. Definitely marks an end of an era. I wager Hummers will be collectibles a decade from now.

I don't believe that article because they say the smaller H3T
"Just after 9:00 AM, the last Hummers to be produced here rolled off the line. The smaller H3T had been in production for just a year and a half. Now, they're finished. It's the latest blow to hopes that the Hummer brand itself would survive, and does not bode well for the future of the plant itself. They're still producing the Chevy Colorado and the GMC Canyon here, but production on those will slow down this summer as well, all toward the ultimate end expected in June of 2012 or sooner, depending on demand."

What's not to believe? That the plant is closing?
BTW, I agree with the 2nd comment on that article by nefirewood. To true about the lack of unique styling and imagination in the GM lineup sans Hummer. JMO anyway.
