key stock on ignition dead battery ;-(
So my 1 month old battery was completly dead when i went out for lunch today . I was able to get a jump and all was fine . So to allow the batt to get some juice instead of eating in i went to the drivethru in order to keep the truck running by the time i went back to work and park i tried to turn on the truck and again and the same thing happened again completly dead and key stock again . At the end of the day i went back to the autopart tested the battery to find out it was bad and they replaced ... what could cause a problem like this ????? I had notice the last few days every time i was lowering my windows everything including headlights would dim down alot .... for some weird reason im planing on taking off the viper alarm and aftermarket radio and going completly back to stock . After checking out the wiring on both radio and alarm im thinking whoever did both installs did a cheap Job and i pray that i never ever meet the guy who did it because it wont be a happy ending for him ;-((( ....

You may have just had a bad cell in the battery. Keep an eye on the replacement battery and see if you are noticing the same issues when you open/close the windows and if the lights still go dim.
If this problem persists, you might look into the next part of the system which is the alternator. Stock OEM alternators on all H2's are only 145 amps. Something to remember is when guys add additional lighting or high powered audio equipment to their rigs, this places an additional draw on the alternator thus causing lights to go dim and taxing the vehicles electrical system. (remember that when the motor is running, your getting most of your power from the alternator, the battery is there to help restart the vehicle or provide power to accessories when the motor is shut off.)
I upgraded mine to the 200 amp level as I have both the factory off-road roof lights AND the factory grille lights.
YouTube videos can show you how to check the output of your alternator. One thing I noticed in my rig was when I first start it up, my voltage runs at about 14.5 volts but then over time it settles back down to 13.8 after recharging my battery. (I don't drive my rig every day, its more of a "weekend warrior" for me.)
Be sure not to confuse volts with amps when testing your alternator.
