I just had my Durango R/T into my local shop for service. The owner is very up to date on information , equipment, etc. I haven't driven it much lately..and mentioned it had a K&N filter. His first words.." I would put a good paper filter back in it if I was you..He says the K&Ns let a lot of SMALL particles pass..and he never uses them...So..I took it out..The next day..I get the new Street Rodder...and ..lo and behold..there is mention of the same issue..So..I come home..take the K&N out of my H3..and put a paper filter back in..NOW..I find out..from this board..that the paper makes 2-3 HP OVER the K&N....All I can say is.."The power of advertising"...and my degree is in Marketing !!!

 

PS.......As I wrote this..I remembered I had a K&N in my King Ranch truck. It will be gone this afternoon...

 

and a few horses at 4000 rpm where i dont spend much time,,,ahhh,,no thanks!!
