so far i have about 20 miles on it last night and got 2 mpg+ better for those 20 miles. thats not much but it was a good little test. i watched the digital mpg meter rise quickly and knew it was quite a bit better than without it. i wasnt ******* it real bad but i was trying to get good mileage i suppose. haha i cleaned my throttle body and did the plugs at the same time though. the plugs were in good shape while the throttle body was a bit dirty.
it fits great except one rubber grommet that the nut on one side and the bolt on the other didnt go into well, i got the nut on and trimmed the bolt a bit to get it to fit in there tight. other than that, it went pretty smooth and cleans up under the hood alot. the stock one has 3 different chambers in it, why im not sure but it has 3 of them. I think the grommet was cross threaded a bit, most likely i did it when i was first putting it together in the house to get it as assembled as possible to take it out to the h2.
it definitely lets the air flow much better, i can hear it a bit in the truck now but i guess its fun to listen to the intake breath and the flow master rumble. its not loud and i had the windows open so that could have been making it easier to hear also. it does it only when getting on it also so its not all the time.
im not sure about paying 600+ for it new from k&n but for 400 like listed on their site would be worth it if you drove an h2 daily. I am a bit tight on a budget so without driving it daily i wouldnt have bought one new but its worth buying one used. I just got it so im more concerned with getting it paid off before my student loans start coming due soon. Im only 23 and just graduated and working full time. i dont drive mine daily or even weekly really. I only put on 50 miles in a couple weeks driving it after work as a lux vehicle. i was getting about 9 mpg, im up at 11+ now driving about the same. it might go down a bit more from where it is now but i know it will get better mileage with the filter setup on it.
i still wish i could have just got a filter itself. i have filters in my two cars and my dad has them in a couple of theirs. the filters themselves are great and are a bit more price friendly.
id buy one if you can find one, thanks again!

so after a hundred or so miles on it now, I have been getting 1 mpg better all the time no matter how i drive it. i can get 2 pretty easily if i drive well and dont off road with it.
it sounds like a turbo spooling up when you take off with the suction going through it. i cant imagine how much the stocker restricts the intake after listening to it.
thanks again,
steve
