Just Got my H3 Woa! Need backup camera kit HELP!

RE: Just Got my H3 Woa! Need backup camera kit HELP!
I originally installed 2 of the 4 sensors (first located on the outside edges of the bumper). This morning, I installed the inside 2 sensors. I am not getting any interference from the spare. The digital readout is very accurate. (I get readouts in .5 increments.) I've tested it several times with a tape measure from different angles. I do have to be careful and subtract 6 inches for the spare.
A video camera is definitely another option. I just don't like them. They look 'cool'. But if your goal is to avoid backing in to someone or something, they simply are not as effective as a set of sensors. My objection to a video camera setup is that most don't 'warn' you of an obstruction. You have to 'interpret' the picture and make that decision on your own. And in my opinion, you end up staring at the monitor screen too much and too long. I would rather use my mirrors normally while I listen to the speed of the beeps from a sensor 'warning' system. Then I can 'briefly' glance at the LED readout to get a simple distance reading from an obstruction.

That looks great! What was the total cost to get up and running? Did you do it yourself or have it professionally done?

I want to interface to my OEM touchscreen unit but to this day can not find one that will interface with it. Does anyone know of a true tried and proven unit?

Fin...would it be too much of an imposition to ask you for a pic of the placement on your bumper of all the sensors? [/size]
I have been reading the posts and pondering the camera vs sensor myself. (After a rather embarrassing mishap of backing into a compact car with a client in my H3 after I 1st got it - no damage thank God and you can bet it won't happen again! I now have visions of my tow hooks pulling off bumpers LOL!) - I am thinking I could benefit from some such gadget. My initial reaction was camera, but already having a GPS system monitor, I just don't want the look of a whole bunch of different monitors all about my dash.

I am TOTALLY unable to install that thing![] so it as been installed by the dealer.
total cost was 3500 € (abt 4600 US.$) including a bluetooth unit and a satellite receiver.
My guess is that is cheaper in the States so go to PIONEER.COM and check the accessories and the prices of the equipment.

LawWyfe- I'll have a pic posted today. I've also got a Garmin GPS and quite honestly, another screen would have crossed over into the land of 'tacky'.

Here you go...
I had 'happy drilling fingers' on the inside-right sensor. I probably should have lined it up with the inside-left sensor instead of the outside-right. Oops!!!
Also, to get my Garmin off the dash, I mounted it 'upstairs" and tucked the wire inside the liner.

Anything more on this subject will help me too. I was planning on purchasing the Audiovox trailer hitch sensor till I saw this thread... now I don't know what to do...
I am not the type to drill holes into my new vehicle!
