Default Just De-Chromed my door handles, lookey

Hey all,
I just swapped out my chrome handles for a full set of stock black ones bought at a junk yard. Im very surprised on how easy it was to do, and only took 25 minutes to do all 5 doors !. I followed the How To found here https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/h...s-w-pics-9152/ and I might add that instead of doing the one handed palm roll/yank to get them off, after removing the end cap I held the door handle open and with the other hand I gave it a slight hit toward the rear of the vehicle, Walla !! pop the handle came off without breaking any tabs. I did however pop just one tab on one handle but as stated in the how to, It does NOT play a role in how the handle feels/functions. Here's some pics of before and after, also PM me if your interested in my stock chromers $90 shipped anywhere in the U.S.!

Looks great. Black accents >>> Chrome, especially on a white vehicle (sorry twinmill, that's just the way it is ).

I was planning on going this route, or just bedlining mine, but if I could find a reasonably priced set of black metal ones that would be the real winner. Unfortunately the metal ones I've seen are way overpriced, and I have yet to see black ones at all.

Thanks Skeptic, Im not much of a fan for chrome anyhow. Yea I wish I could of found a reasonable priced set of powder coated billet aluminum handles, but then again years after years of use might wear um down. Heres a link for my chromers that I just posted in the For Sale section : https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/p...12/#post250820

Post up in the for sale/trade area with your location. I'd bet you can find someone local to do the trade. The problem with long distance trades is who gets to send off their door handles and not have any until they get the other persons?

I just did the opposite on our dark Blue H3, went from Black hanldes to Chrome since one of the orignal handles broke this winter anyway...and I agree it is EASY and the thread on it here gave you the confidience that "yes it is this easy".

I like a mix of chrome and black on dark blue.

Mirrors, gas cover, hood vent = black
Grill, grill lettering and Logos, door handles = chrome. i also added a chrome stip above the rocker panels

Too much of black is too blah for me, too much chrome is too Goddy and urban. I think I am done, unless I get a brush gaurd but that will be black.

i agree white with black accents looks best.

Never really liked white until I started seeing H3's with black accents and now I drool over them. If all goes as planned my next will be white. I am surprised you found the handles in a junkyard; they look in good shape too, no fading. Just curious as to why you didnt paint your chrome handles? They would seem to be much beefier than the plastic ones. Or are they simply ABS plastic also?

Same here. White was near the top of my "do not want" list, but I bought my white H3t anyway because it was pretty much exactly what I wanted option wise, and didn't look too bad in person. After looking through pictures of other white H3/H3ts the ones with black instead of chrome look really good. Black grill and powder coated wheels really changes the look for the better.

Anyone want to trade their H3 tactical wheels for my shiny bling ones?

I bumped the price down for my old set of chromers to $80 shipped, figured Id give my fellow Hummer clan a first shot before they sell on the E-SHMAY route.
