Default Jacking Points?

Lower Control Arm and Rear Axle?

Best spots?

Hummer H3 >> Removing the Flat Tire and Installing the Spare Tire - Service and Appearance Care

I plan to use a standard floor jack with a wood block under front control arm to do the front brakes. Acceptable method?

Yes, I have used both of those. I have also used various locations on the frame or crossmembers depending on what I was doing.

Use the frame, basically anywhere. No need to use the control arm with the frame so easily accessible.

With a lot of cars low to the ground its hard to get a floor jack under there. With the H3 you can get the axel or control arm and with a half inch lift get the tire off the ground

Wanted to jack the rear right today but looking at the "round" axle how to get a decent safe jack on it (per the manual)? I tried to use my floor jack with wood block with what resulted in an apparent unsafe tangent point condition and aborted the jack for an alternate method.

Trying to jack the frame loads the suspension high and I would rather not do this since floor jack too low even with wood blocks.
Is high rise lift the best investment?

How do you guys do it?
