Default Issues with inspection of 3003 H1

I am new at this so please bare with the stupid questions.
I am looking at 2003 H1 used Arizona border patrol truck (k10) 79,400 miles I am in Fl the unit in in Iowa. Had Lemon Squad look at it today and they have reported the following issues. Possibly you can tell me how serious they may be?
OBD2 scanner tool does not read ecm
abs ligh comes on and off
check engine light is on
transfer case is seeping

They want $33,700 for the truck?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Alex

Not much to go on. The ABS light could mean a new ABS module( expensive) or a rebuild ( not too bad ) Check engine light could be anything from a bad sensor to who knows. One the T-case seeping well if it doesn't leak and squeak it isn't an H1. Is it leaking from the joint where the two shells bolt together, from one of the hoses, worm clamps?
You get the picture. Generally the Border Patrol trucks were driven hard and put up wet. I would expect to spend anywhere from 2-5K one it when it arrives so factor that into whatever price you pay. If you get off for less than that you are money ahead. If you can find an H1 owner in the area of the truck it would be helpful to have someone that knows H1s take a look at it for you.

Congrats on the purchase. The 2003 should have a rear locker on it. Sometimes the interiors on them are chopped up due to them removing all of their equipment. Hopefully it isn't too bad. Post up some pictures when you get it.

The 6.5 TD doesn't lend itself to huge performance increases.

Not much. I know some guys with an AMG built race motor for the offroad desert racing H1 that makes 300 HP. Some of the after market accessory companies claim some big HP/torque gains but there is no empirical evidence that I have seen that supports the claims.

3hummers,

I posted a question related to this today on a new thread.

If "Some of the after market accessory companies claim some big HP/torque gains but there is no empirical evidence", are there any companies that show dyno testing? I'm inclined to think that would be empirical if it's being done by anyone.
Now, Raptor Motorsports makes claims about improvements in those area, among others. Are they legitimate? Do they show any empirical standards? I've talked to them and I'm inclined to believe what they advertise; they appear to be respectable. But, it would be great to compare apples to apples...
