iPod connection

After doing more research it looks like every Hummer is atleast "capable" of having XM radio. If you don't have it from the factory then you have to get the unit that plugs into the back. I'm thinking if I get the Ipod connection that requires just a BAND button I should be ok, this "should" give me the AUX option after the install. Again this is only me "thinking"

Yes, It will... I have a 2007 H3 base with nav and no xm... once you install this device, the xm screen will come up and each button will only work to control the iPod. If you only use the Aux on the unit the buttons on the nav console will do nothing. See my third video and that's what you will see when the unit is connected.

Hey Thanks ElGuapo,
However after reading some more it won't work because I have the monsoon system. Why on earth is it so difficult to hook up a simple Ipod. I've never thought it would be this difficult

looks like this one will work for those of us with the monsoon system-

The only other Ipod connection device I know of is the GM PAL - personal audio link, but I don't know if it works for earlier model H3's. I do know its designed for the H3 and is suppose to work the best. I see the price is around $150 from gmpartsdirect.com.

Have a look at the harmon kardon "drive and play", it works well, you just plug a cable to the ipod and leave it in the glovebox, then there a small screen you can put on the dash and a thumb wheel you can put next to the cup holders, works very good with monsoon system and very good sound....the thimb wheel runs through the menus on the screen, easy as....

I have 2 of their gateways and they work great! the only issue is that one does not charge the iPod. No big deal since I have a charger in the rig anyway.
They have a great tech support line! 866-931-8021 (toll free) Mon-Fri 9am-8pm e.s.t.
