Did anyone have to up there coverages? I had the California required 30,000/60,000 and now I got a letter from GM finance saying in order for me to keep the loan through GMAC I need to up it to 100,000/300,000 worth of coverage. That seams like BS to me. My insurance bill is going to sky rocket. If thats the case im getting rid of the H3

30/60 coverage is almost no coverage at all. If you have an accident and are held liable, you might be working for the other guy for a long time. 100/300 coverage is barely marginal.

I am in Ohio and I have 100/300 coverage and I pay $71 a month. I have never had a vehichle that the coverage was less than that on it. In fact my insurance only went up $2.00 a month when I got the H3 compaired to the Kia Sorento I was driving before.

Did you lease the truck? If so most times it's part of requirements for a lease.

I spoke with my Insurance Agent. She says that common for higher end vehicles when fianancing through GMAC as opposed to smaller banks. The upgrage only cost about 10 bucks more a month. (And thats adding a little more coverage to my wrangler too. So its all good.

All insurance companies if you lease or have a loan want a certain coverage so they do not lose.
If you own it you can pick any coverage you want but the lower you go you lose.
