Interior lights do not go on when I open door but if I click unlock they come on. Example:
If I drive home at night and I stop to check my mail, the h3 (2008 if that matters) is running and I open the door, interior lights remain off. If I roll the dash brightness to max, the lights come on (normal/expected).

If I shut off vehicle and step out and close doors and open door, light is off. If I click the unlock on the FOB/keychain, lights come on

My question is, how can I get it so when I open the door with vehicle on or off that the interior lights come on?

Any ideas? Does this makes sense?

 

Your Dome Light Defeat Switch is activated. It is located on the same panel as your headlights. Left side bottom. Good Luck
