Intake gasket question
2003 H2 110k miles. My engine light comes on, and stays on. They did a smoke test, and said the intake gasket is leaking. it needs to be replaced. He said it is common on the GM's
Has anyone else had this problem?

RE: Intake gasket question
I have only had a problem with my throttle body gasket leaking once in a TPI GM motor I had. New to the Hummer scene but the engine is basically the same. Other intake leaks were vaccum hoses that were attached to the intake. Id get a second opinion. Might just be a bad hose. Would a intake leak cause the comp to throw a code? I would think it would just be running a bit lean/higher than normal idle. When the engine light comes on, this means a code has been stored in the computer. Or this is usually the case on comp controlled vehicles. The code tells alot if you can decipher it with a manual. I just got my H2 a couple of weeks ago so I havent even got the manual yet.

RE: Intake gasket question
My H2 is at the dealer for this same reason right now. I was getting codes
P0101 (Mass Air Flow out of range)
P0171-Bank 1 too lean
P0174- Bank 2 too lean
I replaced MAF and air filter and had no sucess. I will post the outcome on Monday when I hear from the dealer.
