I don't think impossible, Predator Motorsports has been one of the companies doing this conversion professionally. Just Google them to see what kind of work they do to get some ideas. There are a couple of people on the forums that have done their own conversions, one guy has been doing Cummins engines.
Is this something you are attempting to take on yourself?

I would never try it myself, but i have fairly good connections with some people working à lot with heavy duty trucks and have à salvage yard, thought i would challenge them to do it if i find the right h1 to do it with.

Ps
Sorry about the strange subject and spelling, using an iPad with language set to swedish so the autocorrect screws everything up

It is possible. People do the Duramax swap routinely but there is more to it than just dropping it in. For example the 06 H1 had 12.1 half shafts, different gears in the hubs, different frame rails, different front steering components, etc to handle the extra horsepower and torque.

Sounds complicated, iwas hoping it would fit descently just needing to change the engine, ecu and gearbox w changes to the mounting, but now I understand the size of the project if steering components etc needs changing aswell.

Many people do just change the motor and transmission but they leave themselves open to other issues. That is not the correct way to do the swap.
