Hello all. I have recently gotten interested in a Hummer sut. I drove a used on today and fell in love. First off... what is the guage in the bottom left hand corner? It was sitting on 0 and the dealer didnt know what it was. What is the avg mpg? And how hard is it to incorporate a dvd player into the factory nav radio? Does the radio have a hard drive for the nav or is it a disk? And what problems will I run into with a hummer h2? Thanks in advance.

 

I think you are referring to the transmission temperature gauge. Average mpg is around 9-12. I love my H2.

 

Thanks, I didn't know what guage that was. but that makes sense now that it was on 0.

 

if your tranny guage was on zero, the truck is broke. the tranny fluid runs through the radiator, so it should show some temp increase. in cold weather it may not come up to engine temp, but it should at least come off the bottom of the range. and if your salesaman didn't know what it was, he's useless.

 

Well it is a used hummer and i was at a dodge dealership. so he really didn't have any clue to any feature in the hummer. and yea he was basicaly useless. I know when I looked at the guage it was on 0. I noticed it as soon as I started it. It may have risen when it warmed up a little but I didn't notice it. I just drove it for about 5 or 10 minutes.

on a very rare occasion I found myself doing 60 in mine yesterday (read stuck behind a dump truck in a 50mph zone).... and I was getting 15-16 with the cruise set... according to the instant economy...

 

i don't look at my instant economy unless i'm going downhill with my camper. otherwise i get depressed . . . . . averaged 11.3 on my last tank though, better than impy gets . . . . .

now the lack of salesman knowledge makes sense, and even your water temp should have been reading nothing when you first started the truck, so no worries then.

 

The truck averages 11.7.... although yesterday I really stood on it and the CEI started flashing... which is why I was stuck behind the dump truck.... I'm thinking it's time for a tuneup.... or else the truck finally is starting to show the effects ofthe ****ty gas the old lady puts in it... anyways I filled up with $89 worth of Sunoco and it didn't do it the entire way home... so.. I dunno what the misfire was caused by...

 

Any common problems with them? Motor? Interior?
