Hey everyone-

I'm reaching out to get some help on fixing my 2005 hummer H2. For some reason this happened one other time as well after I turn my vehicle off and return to turn it back on a few minutes later the engine will not turn but all electric is fine. Other research has led me to believe that I'm having in the ignition switch or an ignition lock cylinder problem. After getting down inside of my steering column to where the ignition lock is and messing with it for a while eventually turned one click backwards and is now completely stuck making it impossible for the cylinder to turn and remove the cylinder lock. You can see in my video and photos below what I mean when I say it's stuck and won't turn or come out. Any insight is very much appreciated.

 

It is fairly easy to change out your ignition lock yourself if that is the problem.
With me I could not get the key out of the ignition when I shut it off.
Problem in that case is usually a broken wire under the shift collumn
Easy repair for a mechanic. Takes about an hour

 

i need to find the part number on that wire thats on the side of the shifter . mine is not looking too good and i know soon ill have to replace the wire . every other h2 i had seen on the junk yard its already missing that cable.....
