Ebay has the most variety, but if you can find a local auction or lot where you can see it before purchase, that'd be better. You can also check places like cars.com, autotrader, etc for H1s for sale close to home.
2. Is desel good or gas and why?
Diesel engines in the H1s have been more reliable, there's a reason they were only available with gas engines for a couple years.

The older you get, the more issues you'll have.
4.. How is the maintanence.
Expensive and time consuming. Working on H1s takes a lot of time, since working on them is physically more difficult than other cars, and once you've identified the problem, it can take a while to get the specific parts. It isn't unusual to see an H1 in service for a month at a time. We have 6 in our shop right now with misc. problems. If you've got the money and another ride while it's in service, go for it - they're a blast to drive and off-road.
