Does anyone know the exact fluid amounts for the front axle, rear axle and transmission?

I have been searching all over the place and it lead to a massive headache.
But so far all i know is the transfer case takes up 1.6 qts.
Thanks in advance!

4 bottles each bottle being 946ml purchased does both the front and rear diffs with some (maybe 1/4 of a bottle) left over
The transmission is 5 litres..... if you only drop the pan and change the filter,I think a total flush is 15 litres, but from a bit of searching any shop doing the flush usually does not drop the pan and change the filter which would be a must do IMHO

I think 15 litres are not enoght,it should be about something like 20 litres right?

just did this, in the rain, in about 45 minutes. was going by info i pieced together from the web, most of which wasn't accurate for my '06. it was easier than i thought it would be and the next time won't take me a half hour.

what i needed:
-3/8" ratchet
-9/16" socket
-5/8" box wrench
-5 quarts of 75w90 full synthetic gear oil
-hand pump
-drain pan
-funnel

remove skids - get under there with a ratchet and a 9/16" socket and have at it. if you need an explanation here, drive straight to the dealership.

loosen fill plug - use your 5/8" box wrench for the front and a 3/8" square drive (ratchet) for the rear. i recommend doing this before draining each diff. what happens if you can't get this off after you drained your fluid?

remove the drain plug - use your 3/8" square drive, mine was at the bottom of the diff housing. front and rear were the same. it comes out pretty fast so have your drain pan in place.

clean off any shavings from drain plug, then reinstall.

refill diffs - get your hand pump and fill your front diff with 1.6 quarts and your rear diff with 2.5 quarts of 75w90 gear oil.

reinstall fill plug - clean off any shavings before reinstalling

take it for a ride around the neighborhood, come home and park it for 5 minutes or so to check for leaks. while you're waiting use your funnel to transfer the old fluid into the empty bottles you just used. when you're sure all is good reinstall skids.

there you go, or you could get the manual and get torque specs and learn how to change other cost saving fluids that the dealer charges an arm and a leg to do. Awesome method though!!!!

First thing you need to do is goi out and get under your vehicle to familiarize yourself and be able to have a mental picture when you are reading here. Once you go out and look at what you are dealing with, I think some of your apprehension will be gone.

Fluid types and quatities are in your owners manual. I think fluids ran in the $75 range but I may be mistaken.

Once you take a look under there, you will see it is very easy. Low plug for drain, high plug for fill.

Make sure to pick up a little hand pump. Find one that screws onto both quart and gallon jugs.

Transfer case is a little harder to see but is the same process UNLESS you have a T-case that requires extra added thru the speed sensor. There iwll be a tag in place on the t-case if this is needed.

For the transmission, there is some research out there that recommends NOT having the system flushed unless absolutely needed. Rather, have the transmission fluid simply changed. Some may do their tranmission service themselves but that is the one fluid change I will have done by someone else.

Good luck

Edit: I will snap a pic of my rear diff today so you can see how easy it will be.
