I do have one major complaint ...

RE: I do have one major complaint ...
I took a rock across the hood and into the windshield at 2,500 miles. I was so pissed but oh well, that's the way it goes. My CJ taught me years ago that a flat windshield attracts rocks like Key West attracts ****. It's just something you have to live with on this type of vehicle. When it gets too bad I'll get my insurance to replace it. In FLA it's a freebie replacement if the chip is anywhere the wipers cover.

I think it has to do with the driver.... I've never cracked or chipped a windshield in 16 years of licensed driving..... now, granted I only drive 65,000-70,000 miles a year....

The drive from NJ to RI and backon 95 has me go through at least 5 construction zones so there are tons of rocks and gravel bits all over the road to be thrown in my face.

You're right, I am sure it is me - I have a history of attracting crap

I got my first chip at 524miles and the 2nd at 2,200 miles. The other day I heard the loud pop of another but it was nowhere to be found. It makes me sick each time.
My insurance is great. It is on comprehensive and they send a guy out and I sign a piece of paper and doesn't cost me a thing. No limit on how many each year either. Guess they think its easier than replacing it. I use Shelter insurance.

i'v replaced my windshield two times and the third windshield is starting to pit [>:]but i have found a chimicl to but in the windshield and will help ressisting the chips and the cracks. its also helps at the rainy days (you dont have to turn on the wipers at all).
