Default HVAC **** light blue and not white

Since I am on a roll of getting my questions answer I have 1 more item for the forum. At night time, take a look at you HVAC Controls backlight (Fan, temp...) Whenthey lighted up are they white like every other componet in the vehicle or are the blue like the attached picture. I did compare this to another vehicle at the lot at my last servce (a later verison and it is white).

Unfortunetly the Dealer will not do anything list replacing the unit. I am sorry but to me this reforces the type of quailty a major OEM is willing to accept.

hmm, I'm pretty sure mine lights up white, but I guess I'll have to confirm that when it gets dark out tonight for you, sorry to see that your dealer won't do anything about it [:@]

importkiller, I work in the auto industry and if the componet that I am respnsible in a vehicle was this blue at nightime it would not be put into the vehicle. Being this blue it would not meet the night time lighting specification.

whatever, exactly what part of the auto industry do you work in? Actually you don't have to answer that cause I can care less what you do, it won't change the fact that this is a ridiculous complaint. I'm sure the dealership all got a good laugh at you as you walked out. Think about it, you bought a mid priced suv that was made to be the most capable off road suv ever made and you bitching about a fan **** that lights up blue instead of white, good luck with that

I'd be pissed off too, how old is your car? did you drive it at night when you test drove it? are there any other hummer dealers in your area that could take care of this problem?

You may think I am being picky but these are the kinds of items that any auto magazine would comment on. This may be a small potatoes but it is insight on what is really going on with how suppliers are manged.
If I bought a $15,000 vehicle and it had this same mis-match of color on 3 buttons to evey other lighted contol in the vehicle I would say well look at what I got for a $15,000 vehicle, but this is not a $15,000 vehicle.

It sounds like a quality control problem, then one starts to wonder what else is going on that you 'don't see'....

first off there was a write up on the h3 in road and track, motor trend, forbes, 4wheeler and a few others....this was NEVER mentioned. All the hvac controls on my h3 are blue also, plenty bright and looks good IMO. Secondly rather than complain about it after the fact maybe you should have looked into it BEFORE you bought it. Listen, I'm not here to argue with you, have a good day.
