Hummers and Footy
Hi to all of the Aussies.
One of my sons when we lived in the Boston area became a big "Footy Fan", Australian Rules Football. He became a charter member of the "Boston Demons" when they were formed. He played several years for them including when they won the US national title. He has traveled to Australia twice and once to England to watch Footy games.
Enjoy your Hummers!

RE: Hummers and Footy
There are live games in the USA. Most major cities have an amateur team. This is especially true for cities that have a major medical presence. Last time I knew there were about 20 teams in total around the US. They play during the spring, summer and early fall. There is a playoff with a US "Grand Final" game or a least that was what was happening a few years ago.

AFL (Australain Footbal League) teams have played demo games in the US for some years now as well. Paul Roos the coach of the Sydney Swans also spent time coaching there to help develope the game.
As a matter of interest the Barry Hall who threw the punch in the video was last night suspended for 7 weeks.
You are right Skippy, the AFL Grand Final is one of the great sporting events. I took my son to the first of the Briasbane Lions Premierships along with about 85,000 other fans and it is a day I will never forget.
And as an ex Adelaide boy, beating Port Power last week is just like beating Collingwood! Go the Lions.
