I traded in my H3 07 for an H2 05 Tuesday. Just had to have an H2 before they are all gone. The dealer had over 50 H3's on the lot and no H2's for weeks until this one showed up.

So I wanted some minor issues addressed so me and their "best" tech went for a drive.

He said that he would own and H2 from 03 (I think) through 07 but the 08 was a whole 'nother creature.

Should have asked him what he meant but other things were pressing.

So was he saying good things or bad things about the late models? I am left wondering like heck now.

 

There were some differences. Tranny, interior and motor changes. Most prefer the older interior. Some like the new tranny better, some don't. Both are very good but some prefer the older over the newer and vice versa.

 

well if he said he would own an 03 - 07 then he would be saying somewhat bad things about the newer ones, the 03-07 H2 's are proven, and the only real problem was the trans around the 100 k mark, ive personally had a newer , stronger trans put in mine at 115k miles last year, they made a newer better version due to the number of ppl having trans problems. the new H2's have a 6 speed trans, and id guess their having a hell of problems with it when it gets a certain number of miles on it, ive heard alot of ppl say they like the 03-07 better and that is was just practically better built, and the 6.0 L is more reliable than the 6.2.. The 2500 HD truck that uses the same 6.0 L engine has been know to go 250k-300k plus miles pulling and towing most of the time, thats pretty impressive
