Default hummer h3 fan blower doesn't really turn completely off when turned to 0

My 2006 hummer h3 fan blower doesn't turn completely off when the dial is turned to 0 ... you can still hear the blower moving and can still feel air ... does anyone know how to fix this?

I bet the air movement stops when the truck stops correct? If you don't have the control on recirculate, when you are moving air flow is normal. You may be hearing something else and think it is the fan though stranger things have happened. I have never heard this before. Let us know, Good Luck

Good idea ... but no ... The fan still moves and you can still feel air through the vents even if the truck is sitting still ... it's not much but it's enough air movement to know the fan is still moving

happythree ... When I pull that fuse the fan turns off ... keep in mind I turned the blower offor (to 0) ... set it to recirculate ... could still feel air blowing from vents ... then I had someone else pull the fuse ... and i could actually feel the air stop blowing! What does this mean? Does it mean that my switch is broken?

idk what recirculate does. i think it just controls air flow but not fan,??? no conection to fan that i can see.

with fuse in,something is grounding the resistor string since the fuse kills +12v when out.
you need to be looking at the wiring to figure it out.

look at fan/resistor wires, any pinched? shorted?

thats all i have.

You can't fix what ain't broke. It is supposed to provide positive cabin pressure and vent out the back swing gate door through the purge vent (the thing with rubber flaps behind the spare tire) at all times.

nothing in the wiring shows any way for the fan to run on its own , off is off unless they hid some ground circuit???

Pull the front panel to access the back of the switch and verify (with a multimeter) that the switch is actually cutting the power when it's in the OFF position.
