Wow....... I post an event, Get over 100+and I did not even get a single response from anyone on this forum???????? Maybe you guys just dont know how much fun your missing out on. Well I will show you how the day went down anyway and maybe some of you might be intersted in getting out for the next event.
The day started off below freezing so I decided I would take the group to the most difficult part of the park. The Infamous Devils Backbone. I warnd the group that this hill was not known for the faint of heart and running it should not be taken lightly.
Anyway we were approached by some cool xj guys who asked if they could tag along. We gladly accepted. I asked them to take us to the bottom of the backbone as I had not mapped that out yet and was not sure of the best way to get to the bottom. Well I thought is was pretty cute when they led us to the Top of the Backbone. I told their trail head we were looking to get the bottom to run up it. He gladly said back to me....."The fastest way to the bottom of Devils Backbone is to go down from the top" lol. And so we made our way down.....
We Followed the XJ group down
In going down this hill there are several ways to get to the bottom. I was the first to try and get down. Well I picked the wrong slot. And had to climb the hill all the way to the top to get turned around to get back down.
JRUSS heads down
This picture shows just how steep this hill really was.

And DEn... It was time to climb. First the jeeps gave it a try......
They did a real good job at turning the hill to a sheet of ice for us. NONE of them made it.
Then we took our turn.
After many unsucessful attempts we decided not to break anything and move along. Not more than 20 yards up the trail out. Our one and only offroad newbie blew the front diff out of her 08H3 Alpha. :frown: The tow out was not very fun as the ground had started to thaw.

This is a Shot from the top of Devils backbone looking down. Believe it or not My GPS and Topo show 100+ FOOT EVEVATION CHANGE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM!!!!
Then we stopped for lunch...
JRUSS's Rig
Mark's Rig
My Truck parked next to JRUSS
Brian's H2 AKA Tow Truck lol he pulled the H3 all the way out of the woods. This truck was an animal with is supercharger and aftermarket exhaust. Everytime he opened up the throttle I just had tears of joy. lol.
The Broken...Shortly after this pic the owner Neutered the truck
Soon aften we headed back out on the trail to find a VERY Interesting truck.
Then we rolled through a creek bed
