Hub assembly issues?

Hub assembly issues?
I just picked up my first H2 and like it just fine. Is there any truth to the hub assembly horror stories about them falling off/apart?
Just thought I would ask to make sure of any precautions or worries I may need to be watching for.

A GM tech can detect the issue, if there was one, very quickly.
Very small amount of trucks were affected and after that I never heard of a hub issue on any H2.
If you want to buy some peace of mind, just have them replaced. I'm replacing all front end suspension components and the hubs even though my tech said everything looks solid when he performed a check.

I don't know about horror stories, but I've seen a few posts from members who have had the hubs go bad on them. Some squeeled and were caught quickly, while a couple did come off. From my understanding, not a great design from the start.
When you do replace them, use quality parts like Moog or Timken or the big names who make these things, not the EBay guy offering rock bottom prices.

Thanks, I have heard of them coming off hundreds of miles from home. Was hoping it was operator error by not properly maintaining like most of the time with anything else.
Gotta love the Ebay "Rock bottom pricing" for some things but when it really matters, I never mind paying for quality.

H3 hub assembly wont go on
I got my old assembly off after a big fight and a broken hand but now I'm ready to put the new one on and I cant get it to slide on even with Grease on the teeth of the CV axle and on the teeth of the new hub assembly. Anyone know any tricks for getting the new one on?

you may want to start by posting in the h3 section not h2 - also this thread is 7 years old
