Default How hard do you push your H2?

hi all,
last night i had to pull a buddy of mine out of the mud. it wasn't that bad but i got half-assed stuck once or twice and had to rock it out. now i am noticing a burnt smell when i put my nose around my front wheels. my transmission gauge didnt rise or anything. how hard would i have to push my transmission before i pushed it too hard? or could it be something else?

I really doub't the smell is your transmission. You may have a brake caliper that is not releasing fully and could be dragging. Unless you were constantly slipping the torque converter then this should not overheat the transmission.

I notice my transmission temp will rise some in the heat of the summer while I am pulling my enclosed trailer. Even then, it does not get close to the limit.

I was your breaks. If you were pulling someone out and slipping odds are traction control was going to work and pulsing your breaks. It's normal so now worries. It happens to me all the time when I am not running my lockers.

yea. the burning stopped. i was just a little paranoid because i killed the transmission on my Z71 a couple of years ago (actually my buddy did it). And to be quite honest, i don't feel as confident in my H2 as i did in my pickup. I've had all of the common problems you read about on here and all i am doing is waiting on the next thing to break.

Thanks for the replies guys.

try takeing your H2 in sand dunes. and run it up to 4500 rpms. Whole new ball game. it just comes alive.
Just keep an eye on trans temp. they will run hot. 86000 miles on mine still will go anywhere.
