How do you upgrade your 2006-2009 H3 with the Bluetooth capability of a 2010 H3?
Does anyone know how to upgrade your 2006-2009 H3 with the Bluetooth capability of a 2010 H3? I'd really like to run music off my iPhone to my stereo, or even make a phone call with my iPhone via the stereo handsfree. I assume this is what you can do with the 2010 H3s.
Can you just swap in a 2010 H3 stereo head unit?
Thanks,
Joe

Joe,
I would recommend contacting your local dealer for more information. They should be able to assist in letting you know how best to approach this project. Please feel free to keep me posted. Thank you.

Joe, I would suggest that you ignore any and all posts by Tricia. Usually she posts the exact same reply about emailing her your VIN, model/year, etc and then contacting the dealer. (I'm surprised that this one was not a normal cut and paste response! )
I don't think a single person has said that she personally helped them with anything and for most people the reason for coming here researching a problem was to avoid the dealer in the first place! There are a number of threads on here about how to upgrade the H3 to bluetooth. Most if not all involve a new head unit and wiring harness adaptor. Sorry I can't give you much more info about it as I'm not interested in doing it myself but have read a couple of How-To threads just for personal interest and maybe remembering something later.

I'd like to keep the factory look, so I'd be more interested in swapping in a 2010 head unit, if it was just a plug and play deal. If there involves a lot of tweaks and special harnesses then I'm less inclined to do this. I really don't wan't a non factory look, so putting in a Pioneer, etc. head unit isn't in my list of options I'd like to explorer.
