OnStar costs something like $20 a month... but I can get a $10 per month discount for letting them "track" me to confirm that the "T" sits more than it is driven... insurance discount from State Farm. The "T" is 27 months old and has 4,650 miles... if I can get it below 500 miles annually, the discount is $20 monthly... so OnStar has the potential to basically pay for itself the less you drive !!

Such a deal !!

Another reason I like OnStar... I push the blue button when I'm lonely and want to talk to someone... lots of lonely girls answer calls for OnStar in the Phillipines... can't get them to send me a pic though.

You know I'm kidding... right ?

Somehow I managed to live thru 30 years of driving without needing a magic blue button for emergency services, or people to have the ability to track my trucks every movement, or drain my wallet every month for the privilege of having all of my information auctioned off to the highest bidder, or be able to talk to people while I drive because really how can anyone live without talking on their stupid phone for more than 3 minutes.

But hey be a good sheep, here's your location device and a few convenience features to dazzle your feeble brain cells while your assimilated into the herd.

Thanks Tricia but I've already permanently opted my truck out of your pay us to screw you feature, However thanks for the neat blue button, It now activates a more useful feature.

While OnStar’s soft disconnect keeps the service active to track the user, previous and current OnStar subscribers can opt out of this new privacy change by calling (877) 616-0577 and requesting a hard disconnect from a customer service representative of OnStar. However, this takes up to ten days for the account to cancel and an additional two weeks for the connection to shut off. Users may also consider removing the fuse from the OnStar hardware for a faster solution.
