As part of my MOLLE cabin upgrade, I added some drink holders to all four of the doors.
Or they can be replaced with any other single point MOLLE accessories.....

Now I just gotta figure out how to upgrade the center console, lol, those cup holders are almost worthless...

 

My thoughts on the center console..... I want to modify the gauge cluster surround plastic so that a column shifter will clear it and install the upper half of a steering column from a GM truck. The floor shifter is cool and all but it takes up a TON of space which could be far better used for a better cup holder arrangement and more storage.

I've actually been planning on buying a cluster bezel on eBay just for this reason so I can start working on how to cut and shape it and make it look stock.

That’s a bit of work, I thought my (loose) plan of cutting the old holders out and fitting new ones in was a bit ambitious... I did like the ones in my expedition, the Ford even had rubber inserts to make the holders smaller, there were very few soda cups that didn’t fit (lol only a couple of times, if I remember right) and too the inserts were nice when it was time to clean them out, just pop”m out and clean them in the sink. So of course, I’m leaning towards fitting a set of them in...but you never know what a trip to the junkyard will produce. I’ll take a look at some of the other big suv’s and see.......
