HID lights install.... successful!!!
Hi all, I'm new to this forum as I just got my H3 about a month ago. Anyway, after reading all the posts about HID lights and how some people don't have high beams, I went ahead and bought some bi-xenonsanyways on ebay. The hard part was the color coded wires, as I was unsure what is ground, what is high + and low +. I initially thought the blue wire was the high+, the orange colored wire was the low+, and the pink was the (-). But after researching this forum, it was stated that the blue was ground, orange was low+ and pink was high+. I tried that but was unsuccessful, as I had nothing. I thought it was my kit, but went ahead and tried what I thought initially and it worked, but when you use the high beam, the lights go out, like mentioned on one of the topics here. As a result, I blew a fuse....I then tried where the blue wire is low+, orange is high+, andpink (-)and voila!!! it works PERFECT, both high and low xenons....I thought I wouldmention it here since some were having trouble with install or some are just onlyusing low beams....so to sum it up, blue=low+, orange=high+, pink=(-). Now, I still could be wrong if the guy I purchased the lights from had his + and - switched around ...but in either case, my lights work! Hope this helps for some of you....
