Default RE: HID Light Question (H3)

Hello,

This is Keith with STARR HID.

The STARR HID headlamp takes approximately 1.5 hours to install. It is relatively easy as it uses the stock mounting points. In comparison to the cheaper HID conversions that replace the Halogen bulb there is 30 minutes extra required for installation.

Regarding the use ofHID bulbsin a Halogen lamp;while it worksthere is a lot to be said against using this setup. Firstand foremost with your lighting system is safety and performance: this setupwillnegatively affect both sides of thisequation. Because the Halogen headlamp is not designed around the HID bulb it can not properly reflect the light into a controlled pattern. Itwill look brighterboth insidean outside the vehicle, however it is like running a V8 on only 5 good cylinders while the others continue using gas and linking oil. It is not an efficient system and it pollutes the highway with excess light glare. This may sound extreme but it if you think of a cheap HID install, the amount of glare that it produces and then compare it to the lighting system of a Cadillac CTS you will begin to have a better idea. The Cadillac front end is not drowned out by glare at night, a cheap Halogen to HID conversion is. The cheap conversion may produce more light than your stock Halogen system; however it will produce nothing in comparison to a projector headlamp that properly controls the light pattern. The STARR HID system produces 3.5x the light volume, uses less electricity, produces less glare, and is DOT legal.

Itis also backed by a 3 year warranty. Try getting a 3 year warranty from an eBay-illegal-HID importer.

Do you have pictures of the black ones?

Do they come with relays?

Are they self-leveling?

Thank You,

No problem with the beam pattern with the HID headlights in the stock reflectors. They blow away the best halogen bulbs. Once you go HID, you'll never go back!

They are the stock sizes I believe H9 & H11 don't remember?. The headlights and driving lights are HID. I only use the driving lights offroad because they are too bright on the streets. There is no glare guard inside the assembly. No such thing as "self leveling HID bulbs". Girlfriend has the self leveling on her C230 Compressor. It actually moves the whole reflector assembly at startup.
