Default HID DIYers

I am planning the HID upgrade and am considering some of the DIY options. I like the STARR product but it sits a bit out of my price range.

Who has done their own upgrade. What products did you use? how hard was it? What advice do you have for others? Do you have picts?

Its easy.
buy this:

and this:

And take the 5000k bulb pair. You need the bixenon wiring from a cheap HID like vvme.com (h13)

take the lamp out. warm it in the oven then pull the glass away.
1 15.torx to take away the reflection to the h13.
Take the morimoto h1 inside the light. if you see on the picture of the link you understand.
you only need 1 3mm drill to the wiring of the bixenon to work.

its very easy and this system i think is so much better than the STARR.

Can you explain why this system would be so much better than the STARR system ?

I havene seen the outputs on the STARR. But i think its better because of newer technology.

Did you have to cut/splice any wires on the OEM connectors to install?

Starr currently uses Phillips ballasts and Phillips D1S bulbs
What is this newer technology you speak of . . .

Hoken, it looks good. How long did it take you? How hard was it to separate the light?

Ive had the starr system for 5 months and think i should be able to get better performance, i just ordered a retrofit kit myself (today actually) im hoping the quality is better than the starr
