Smile Hi all - new here

Hi guys, My interest in Hummer's continues to increase and I have had many vehicles - even have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee right now (getting aver city/hwy 18mpg - can get 21-22mpg hwy- however I would like some real world advice on the Hummers. I like the H2 I think the most. I love real bumpers and real diffs, etc - all the 4wd stuff but do they get really bad gas mileage? Are they really reliable? (My ZR2 Blazer was not)

Hello and welcome! Their slogan "like nothing else" is as accurate as you can get. I've owned my H2 a little more than a year and enjoy the hell out of it.

Gas mileage? Well, if you're worried about that, an H2 is not for you. H3's are better. If you go with the H2, the larger 6.2l on the 2008+ will haul the beast with better mpg. With a few simple DIY mods, I got my mpg to 14-15 mpg freeway/city avg.

Reliability? I only have about 22k miles on mine and it is solid as a rock!

Good luck on your search. Just get one!

Isn't an H3 a blazer (basically) and an H2 more of an H1 but the civilized version.. (doing more research right now.)
I just found an H3 at Dueck with a manual tranny - I cannot believe it! - I never thought they were ever made with a manual tranny.

Welcome to the formum! Blazers and H3's are very different. Size, frame, suspension. H2 is very different from H1. H1 = "civilized" military version.

Well my dealer is working on it. I think I will sell my 1990 Jeep Cherokee with a 6 inch lift w 33's and trade my 2007 Grand Cherokee and see if I can get the 2007 5 spd Hummer H3 I drove the other day. It was having the manual tranny that made me enjoy driving it more than the Jeep. The jeep ride is smoother - but the H3 is sportier. If I do get the H3 is there a replacement part for the front grille? I prefer black - not chrome and I am sure I have seen that in a few Hummers just not sure which ones.
