Default Here is an iteresting torsion bar post.

So I had my h3 in the shop today for a bad sputtering problem and also notified the guy that some times when I back up and go to stop I hear a clunck under the truck.
He called me back this am to notify me that the cluncking noise is some thing to do with the torsion bar and how it seats???? Any way he said they lowered it and thisstopped doing but it was my choice I wanted lowered or returned to stock hieght as the front end of the truck had also been lowered. I asked him if he would mindputting it back to stock hieght and then level the front end. He aggreed and is doing this for me. Just thought some would be interested in knowing the dealer will level the torsion bars for you.

Is it when you first start the truck and back up that you hear the clunking noise???? On the brake correct ("when I go to stop")?

Seems to me that somebody should come out with a TSB for that....

they lubed the torsion bars and cleaned the rust outta the pockets and now it seems to work fine? NO clunking.
I didn't have the torsion bars lifted which suprised the dealership because they thought they were. I asked him to rasie them from the stock hieght to level the front better but I think they just put them back where they were
