Help with amp and sub install
I have an amplifier and subwoofer that I want to install in my 2005 H2. In all of my previous vehicles I have installed a complete system, but would like to keep this factory stereo and cd changer. Does the head unit have outputs to where I can hook up my amp? I would hate to pull it all out if someone on here already knows.

AC/DC converter. You'll keep your stock head unit. I don't know exactly how my guy did it but I will say this. UPGRADE your head unit. You'll get a better signal going to the amp AND even if you have a Bose system, Alpine, Kenwood, etc gives MORE sound to your door speakers as well... Just my take on it.

I would say definitely upgrade your head unit, you'll be a lot happier in the end and your door speakers will sound better for sure.
Just put the OEM stuff in a box and keep it if you want to switch back to sell the truck. It will be so much easier than trying to ghetto rig the OEM head unit to do things it was never meant to do.

Thanks guys!!! I am happy with the sound of the factory system, but I have an Alpine type R sub and amp just sitting on a shelf in my garage. I just figured if I could hook it up to what I already have I would. If not, I'll probably just sell it.

You can get yourself a nice head unit, dash kit, and wiring harness for $200-300.
If you have the sub and amp just laying around I'd say its worth it. Unfortunately the way these audio system works is all third party type plugs and connectors.
For example, the factory amp in my H3 does not look like a normal amp at all. It has three different oem specific plugs on it that you'll never find anywhere else on any amp. It was such a pain in the *** that I just left the factory sub in place because I figured screw it, 2000RMS pounding out of two 15's you'll never know the little 200RM 8 inch factory woofer is even there.
